A few days before I was ready to harvest the sweet corn I got 10.5 inches of rain and a little wind for good measure. The night before we harvested the corn we received another 1.25 inches of rain. You gotta do what you gotta do. Mud it out! Froze 47 bags of cream style corn.
Still have a little left for supper for the next few days.

Larry, your garden is still looking fantastic and puts most of us to shame.
ReplyDeleteThe corn looks just about perfect.
I actually beat the raccoons for most of my tiny patch and froze 70 nice ears.
The OP corn has set large ears and the stalks are about 8 feet tall. Sure be fun to see what develops.
I have one Prosperosa eggplant almost ready. I did Black Beauty last year and didn't like them at all, but we love the Prosperosa.
Maybe I didn't prepare the BB right.
My peppers are less than stellar this year. Some plants just completely disappeared.
