I have started 3 Stonehead cabbage and 6 Green Goliath broccoli plants. They will be ready to plant outside in the next week or two. I will plant more cabbage seeds outside, under a board, in about 10 day intervals for a constant supply all year.
I wish I could have cabbage and broccoli all year but it just can't happen in GA, still I am going to try it in the fall again this year since I did have a little success last fall.
I planted my first tomato plant in northwest Illinois in 1947 and have been gardening ever since. My house is on a 2.3 acre lot and have 3 garden plots totaling 10,000 square feet. All vegetable. No flowers. No weeds.

ReplyDeleteAre cabbages the only thing you plant under a board?
gld... Broccoli also works well and I have done parsley. The potential is unlimited.

That's what I was thinking. The board would keep things moist. I need to try that.
