My weed free garlic was dug on July 1, same as last year.

Good enough!

Pop Corn

Planted my pop corn yesterday. Orville Redenbacher's. Just behind the garlic and before the potatoes, which are not up yet but will be shortly.

Here is a better look at the garlic.

Garlic

My garlic is now ready to dig.
I wash it with a garden hose and let it dry for a couple hours in the sun. Try not to spray Eugenia's flower pots!!!

Then 2 weeks to dry in the garage and ready to use.

Garden update

Flat leaf parsley was started under a board and transplanted with a bulb planter.
Three cauliflower.
Also three red cabbage.
This lettuce mix was a free sample from a seed company. My neighbor calls it "floor sweepings".
I hoed the garlic yesterday and it took all of three minutes.
Copra onions are responding well to the mulch.

Weed free garlic

I planted the garlic on Oct. 29, 2009 which is about two weeks late in my area due to a very wet fall. Not a single one came up in the fall, but all 52 of them came up this spring. The soil is now dry enough to hoe and will be ready for the big snow this weekend.
